Mediterranean Academy of Wellness Sciences (MAWS). Refund, transfer, and cancellation terms for courses.
The Mediterranean Academy of Wellness Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “the Academy”) is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in its refund practices. This policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be issued and the process for requesting a refund, in compliance with applicable Cyprus regulations, including the Consumer Protection Law 112(I)/2021.
This policy applies to all courses offered by the Academy, covering fees paid by students for participation in workshops, training programs, or other educational activities. This policy should be read in conjunction with the Student Agreement signed at enrollment.
Refunds will be granted under the following circumstances:
Students who withdraw from a course must notify the Academy in writing (by email to info@maws-academy.com). Refund eligibility is determined based on the timing of the withdrawal relative to the course start date:
If the Academy cancels a course for any reason other than force majeure, the Student is entitled to a full refund of all fees paid for that course. The Academy will provide at least 7 days’ notice of cancellation where possible.
After the course has started, in cases of documented medical emergency supported by an official medical certificate, the Student may submit a written request within 14 days of the event. The Academy shall review such request within 10 business days and may, at its discretion, offer a course credit valid for 12 months for the undelivered portion of the course in lieu of a monetary refund.
Other exceptional circumstances (e.g., bereavement, natural disaster) will be considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate supporting documentation.
Instead of cancelling, the Student may request to transfer to a different course date (subject to availability), provided the request is made in writing:
For distance and online enrollments, the Student has a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of enrollment in accordance with Cyprus Consumer Protection Law 112(I)/2021, during which they may cancel and receive a full refund, unless the course has already commenced with the Student’s explicit consent (as indicated in the Early Start Consent section of the Student Agreement).
This cooling-off right does not apply to in-person enrollments made at the Academy premises.
The following fees are non-refundable once issued or incurred:
To request a refund, the Student must submit a written request to the Academy’s administration by email to info@maws-academy.com. The request must include:
Processing timeline:
If a Student is dissatisfied with the outcome of a refund request, they may submit a formal complaint in accordance with the Academy’s Complaints and Appeals Policy. The complaint should be submitted in writing to the Academy Director at info@maws-academy.com.
If the complaint is not resolved to the Student’s satisfaction, the parties agree to attempt mediation before resorting to legal proceedings, in accordance with Section 8.3 of the Student Agreement.
The Academy reserves the right to amend this refund policy at any time. Students will be notified of any changes prior to their enrollment. Amendments do not apply retroactively to students already enrolled at the time of the change.
